Thank God for suggestions. This book popped out of the blue and it was the exact thing I needed to hear.
Originally I thought this book was mainly about relationships but it is so much more! The author covers the power of not yet as it pertains to not having reached your full potential but knowing you are capable of more! She inspired me to pursue further my wholeness in Christ, to realize my identity and potential and to learn how to lead myself well.
I honestly devoured it and cannot wait to share it with my friends.
Ms. Pisani has written a wonderful book that was encouraging and empowering to me. I appreciate the fact that she used story to explain a lot of her points which made the book easier to get through. And the book manages to weave in many Bible quotes without sounding preachy or judgmental like many other books I could name. This was worth my time.
This book really is about understanding and embracing your true identity in Christ knowing that God not only can, but desires to use you in the "not yet" phases of your life because they are an integral part of your story for His glory.
The author shares snippets of her own life, outlines practical steps on how you can live victoriously in the "not yet", and suggests prayers that can be prayed to help you truly receive the abundant life that Christ has made available for all.
This book is a wonderful reminder that we all have a destiny - a purpose for being here and that no part of our lives is ever wasted or insignificant when we choose to surrender our fears, our hopes, dreams and even the seemingly "mundane" aspects of our lives to the truth of God's word.
An amazing book filled with examples from real life experiences and Biblical stories to provide lessons that describe a blueprint for living life to the fullest in every respect. As a middle school teacher I had professed the belief that students should be evaluated, not on the journey to their accomplishments, but on their eventual success. We don't judge an olympic runner by the falls she experiences when she was learning to walk. Why judge someone by how many times they fall (fail) on the road to learning - their success. I thought this book would re-enforce that philosophy. But it goes beyond that. I recommend this to anyone, at any stage of their lives, or profession who feels stuck in life searching in darkness for a light at the end of a tunnel.
I've been blessed to glean a little from the life of Donna Pisani and this glimpse alone has impacted my life in a significant way. She has not only raised 4 amazing children, but has lead her church and her own life from a place of strength and is an example of the kind of woman I want to be when I grow up. I am grateful for the time she has taken to put pen to paper and share in some of the wisdom she has learnt over the years on how to stay on course when everything says to quit. This book brings life in challenging circumstances as her words take you by the hand and lead you to a place where you can finally see the opportunity that lies ahead of you. I hope it inspires you as it has me!

Inspiration and motivation on steroids! I’ve read a lot of motivational self-help books over the years, and I have to say this is probably the most powerful one yet. There is a good reason this book has an average 5-star review rating.
As usual, God led me to a book in just the right time. I was coming out of a rather long period of depression and discouragement, and beginning to pray what I was supposed to do with all these dreams and desires that have been locked up inside me for years. Dreams and desires that, I might add, I had all but given up on during my last bout with depression.
Then along comes this book, which God is using to get me back on the right track. I recommend it to anyone who feels stuck in a rut, or discouraged because life seems to have become one big obstacle to fulfilling their dreams (hello, so, like, most of us?).
Gentle correction to the author snakes are reptiles, not amphibians. ;)
